In this technique, a deep graft is harvested from the palate and fixed to cover the recession, then the gingival tissue will be moved up to cover the graft. This technique is used in cases where esthetic is very important because the color of the healed tissue is exactly as adjacent tissue. Healing of donor site is faster than in case of free gingival graft because the superficial wound is much smaller. In both cases, healing of the palate will be completed in weeks and resemble that before surgery. The results of the surgery are as follows:
