Guidelines for beautiful smile

Beautiful smile is different from one person to the other. There are many guidelines set for beautiful smile; these guidelines should be followed if possible when doing any cosmetic periodontal or dental procedures.
Treatment plan and treatment should be done by periodontist and restorative dentist together for best results.
The periodontist will do the cosmetic periodontal surgery and carve the gingiva to give the best results by lengthening the teeth, leveling the gingival margin & reducing gummy smile. After the surgery, the gingiva should heal for at least eight weeks, then restorations, veneers or crowns can be done to get the beautiful smile.

The length of the upper two central incisors and the upper canine should be similar, when smiling the gingiva should not be seen except above the two lateral incisors (1-2 mm of the gingiva is seen above lateral incisors), the length of lateral incisors should be 1-2 mm shorter than central incisor and canines.
Can we always get this smile?
The treatment plan is designed to get the best possible smile, but in some cases we cannot get smile like the one in the picture. If the treatment plan, cosmetic surgery, and restorations are done by experienced doctors, the results will be impressive and much better than before.
