How to use dental floss
|
Using dental floss is very important to clean between the teeth and under the bridges which are impossible to clean using only the toothbrush
The toothbrush cannot clean between the teeth, which allow the bacteria to accumulate in these areas and cause gingival diseases
Also, it is difficult for the toothbrush to clean under fixed bridges. These areas are very common areas for accumulation of food and bacteria which cause inflammation and bad odor associated with the bridges.
What is the ideal way to use dental floss?
You should use the dental floss at least once daily as follows:
Take 30 cm floss and turn it around the index or middle finger in both hands
Insert the floss between the teeth; turn it around the first tooth and move it up and down to remove all attached plaque and food debris. After that, turn it around the other tooth and move it the same way as previous. Do this procedure between all teeth.
Insert the floss under the bridges using floss threader or use Superfloss; move the floss front and back under the bridge, then turn it around the front tooth and move it up and down, do the same thing for the back tooth.
