Cosmetic periodontal surgeries

Cosmetic periodontal surgeries are divided into three types:

Surgeries to treat gingival recession
(check the link: treatment of gingival recession)

Tissue graft or bone graft to restore resorbed after extraction (check the link: Problems associated with teeth loss)
Esthetic crown lengthening

Esthetic crown lengthening

Because many patients like to have beautiful smile due to their believe that it is important for their appearance, this type of surgeries resembles a good part of our daily work. I presented many of my cases in this website to show different cases with different plans and outcome

Gummy smile with short teeth and the gingiva can be seen above all teeth

  Intra-oral picture before
periodontal surgery

Intra-oral picture after esthetic crown lengthening (carving gingiva and bone to guarantee stable results)

This patient does not need veneers or crown because the shape and color of teeth is acceptable

Second Case :

Before crown lengthening: premolars are very short compared to canines, left lateral incisor is longer than the central and the canine

  After esthetic crown lengthining

  Veneers before cementation

After cementation of veneers in upper and lower teeth

We noticed that after having beautiful smile, the patient is not shy to show his teeth

Third Case :

Before esthetic crown lengthening, notice short teeth, and the frenum that attach the lip to the gingiva

After crown lengthening, removal of frenum, and veneers for upper teeth

Fourth Case :
