Guided Tissue Regeneration

In this surgery, we use collagen or synthetic membrane to cover the exposed root, then the flap is coronally positioned to cover the membrane. This surgery is used in highly esthetic areas (like CTG and AlloDerm)

New attachment (new bone, cementum and periodontal ligament) with this technique is more than CTG and AlloDerm

The increase in attached gingiva is more in CTG than GTR or AlloDerm

The surgical technique is as follows:

Recession in maxillary left canine

Flap is reflected and the recipient site is prepared

AlloDerm is trimmed to fit the recipient site

The membrane is sutured in place

The flap is coronally positioned to cover the membrane

Notice full coverage of the root by newly formed tissue
